Our biggest and most exciting tournament of the year
The famous Denver Language School Chess Club, one of the strongest scholastic chess clubs in the state, teams up with PALS Chess Academy to celebrate the end of the school year with an exciting, fun and friendly K-6 chess tournament your children won’t want to miss!
Where: Denver Language School, 451 Newport Street, Denver, CO 80220
Entry Fee: Just $10 per player, half-off from the usual entry fee!
Schedule: Parents and kids should check in between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. A mandatory player’s meeting begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by 5 rounds, no longer than 45 minutes each. The awards ceremony will begin at approximately 1:15 p.m. and we will conclude at around 1:30 p.m.
Lunch: There will be a lunch break after round 3. Snacks and Pizza will be available for purchase on-site, from the DLS chess team. Players can also bring their own sack lunches. There is no close restaurant d–so please bring your own food, or plan on ordering some concessions from the team!
- Awesome Prizes: Trophies or medals for ALL participants! Unique prizes such for outstanding sportsmanship, Chess Queen (top girl in each section), best game award (to be eligible for this award, games must be written down and submitted to Lior Lapid between rounds), and more!
- Non-elimination format means everyone plays all five rounds and everyone wins a prize!
- Seating will be available for parents who wish to stay at the tournament.
